Recycle can be used to slim your deck down in long fights. The energy generation aspect of this card is usually irrelevant because your expensive cards are the ones that you do not want to be getting rid of. In some rare cases it can be used to exhaust for example a Sunder to great effect, but this case is fairly rare. More often, it will exhaust a strike or defend to prevent you from redrawing them. note that this card can also be used to get rid of wounds and burns. Although these cards do not provide any energy, sometimes it is more important to simply remove them from your deck. This is especially important with the Runic pyramid since wounds in particular do not discard ever.
