Backstab is a brilliant proactive card that can finish an enemy on turn 1 which is extremely valuable. The fact that it is innate is both an upside and a drawback: on the one hand, it's guaranteed damage on turn 1, but on the other hand it is one less source of block on your opening turn. If you don't have your starting relic, it can sometimes be impossible to spend all of your energy on turn 1. I would always pick one copy of this, potentially take two, but normally taking three is pushing your luck.
