The main downside of distraction is its randomness. For example, it could create a deflect which would be terrible value for this card. Although this situation is unlikely to occur, I feel it is important to control as much RNG in the game as possible, which is why I rarely pick this. Obviously, if it produces a high cost card it can have good value. This card synergises particularly well with letter opener, as it provides two instantly playable skills for 1 or 0 energy.
