Railbeater

What we think of Railbeater

Railbeater is a unique card in that it is the only one that offers melee weakness on a unit. You can't even get this effect from his essence. Since Railbeater causes the next instance of melee damage to do twice as much, you want to make sure that the next time attack the enemy receives is a large one. This can be achieved by either putting a high damage unit behind Railbeater or by putting the unit at the front of the floor above. The latter is obviously harder to pull off since your high damage unit will be at the front and likely won't have much protection. Note that applying multistrike to the Railbeater isn't as effective as it might seem, since he consumes the first instance of melee weakness that he applies. As a fun tip, the pyre can make use of melee weakness. Overkill damage can be a big problem when facing units leading up to the bus, but when paired with a trample effect this additional damage can be very relevant. when it comes to the relentless phase, the Railbeater essentially doubles the damage of the unit behind him (assuming no multistrike), which is not to be scoffed at.
